Heidi Brix is an American violinist. Brix's early teachers included Patti Ruisch and Frederick Halgedahl. She has studied violin performance both at the University of Northern Iowa then at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music under Benny Kim. In May 2012, Brix graduated from the Conservatory with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Violin Performance. During her time at the university, her studies were focused on violin performance, orchestral performance, and music pedagogy. She has held numerous orchestral positions such as with the Des Moines Symphony, the Saint Joseph Symphony, and the Topeka Symphony. Heidi's teachers have included Benny Kim, John McGrosso, Frederick Halgedahl, and Patti Ruisch.
Brix has been studying music for the past 30 years. She began her music studies with the violin at the age of six. Her early studies were founded in the Suzuki Method. Throughout the years, Heidi has branched out into different areas of music, seeking instruction in piano, flute, and voice. She is passionate about education and music.
